Fill one bucket with soapy water and fill the second bucket with clean water. Always rinse your wash mitt in clean water before reloading it with more soapy water. This extra step keeps the wash water clean and reduces the amount of dirt you carry back to the paint.

Preventing tiny scratches or swirl marks is one of the biggest challenges in caring for your paint. These are caused by bits of dirt and grit rubbed across the car's paint during washing, and the Grit helps prevent this.

The Grit simply sits in the bottom of your bucket. Every time you dunk your wash mitt in the bucket for more suds, you also brush it against the Grit. This helps remove dirt, and the Grit Guard also keeps that dirt trapped at the bottom of the bucket.
