C2000 detection

Target Blu Eye: know when an emergency service is approaching

The Target Blu Eye detects police, ambulance, and fire department radio traffic via the C2000 network and warns you in time. Even for unmarked vehicles without flashing lights. Completely legal, as it is not a radar detector.

Legal in the Netherlands | Invisibly built-in | 2 years manufacturer's warranty

How does the Target Blu Eye work?

  • Receives the signal

The antenna picks up the C2000 radio traffic, even when the vehicle is driving without flashing lights and siren.

  • Filters what's relevant

The system recognizes emergency service pulses via waveform recognition. It decodes nothing and transmits nothing itself.

  • Warns you in time

A bar runs from green to red and you hear a beep. The stronger the signal, the closer it is. Up to three emergency services displayed simultaneously.

WHAT YOU NOTICE ALONG THE WAY

This is how it behaves in practice

Same direction of travel

If you're driving in the same direction as an emergency service vehicle, you'll notice a nice, gradual increase in signal strength. The signal becomes stronger as you get closer, long before you see or hear the vehicle.

Coming to meet

Because a two-way radio emits a pulse approximately every 4 seconds, you get a shorter lead time with oncoming traffic. Enough time to calmly make space, and exactly how the C2000 network works.

THE MAIN QUESTION

Is the Target Blu Eye legal?

Yes. The Target Blu Eye is completely legal in the Netherlands.

Think of it as an FM radio that doesn't play music but only beeps when an emergency service is nearby. It passively receives signals, decodes nothing, and transmits nothing itself. This makes it very different from a radar detector, which picks up police speed measurements and is illegal in the Netherlands.

In 2016, it was discussed in politics. A former minister then decided that it is a legal product and saw no reason for a ban. So you can drive with it without any worries.

THE CHOICE

Which Blu Eye suits you?

Both perform the same function. The difference lies in the installation: you install the GO yourself, while the 2 is permanently and invisibly built-in with the best range.

Target Blu Eye 2

Built-in

€ 1,749.- incl. installation

LED-DISPLAY €1,749 · LCD-DISPLAY €1,849

Many of our customers with a serious car still opt for built-in installation. Those who don't want the hassle of dropping off, picking up, and later removing the device, choose the GO. Both options are equally valid.

THE BLU EYE 2

LED or LCD display?

LED in the interior mirror

We build the LED display into the glass of your rearview mirror, operated by two small buttons on the bottom edge. Sleek and discreet. In nine out of ten cars, this installation works without problems, even behind an auto-dimming mirror. This works perfectly in the Audis, BMWs, and Mercedes models we most frequently work on. Only if your mirror has a built-in camera display is there no room.

LCD touchscreen on the dashboard

The 2.4-inch LCD touchscreen is mounted on the dashboard, with the cable neatly tucked away. Advantage: you can see channel numbers, change all settings in the menu, and suppress individual channels, for example, those of trams or companies that also use TETRA.

FAIR EXPECTATIONS

What does it and doesn't it detect?

Welcome

  • Police, ambulance and fire brigade active on C2000
  • Unmarked vehicles without flashing lights and siren
  • Traffic that is still out of your sight and hearing

No

  • Speed cameras and mobile speed traps, it is not a speed camera detection
  • An officer with a laser gun
  • Vehicles not registered on the C2000 network

Many of our customers with a serious car still opt for installation. Those who don't feel like bringing their car in, picking it up, and later having the system removed, choose the GO. Both options are equally valid.

SERVICE

Have the Target Blu Eye 2 installed

Installation takes four to six hours. Most customers drop off the car in the morning and pick it up at the end of the day. You can also wait, and a courtesy car is available.

We neatly install the display on the dashboard as desired, or concealed in your rearview mirror. For some models, we create a holder in the ventilation grille, so that it looks like it came from the factory. The main unit is placed under the dashboard or in the trunk, the antenna in the front or rear bumper. You will receive the car back ready to drive, registered and configured.

Is the Target Blu Eye legal?

Yes, completely legal in the Netherlands. The system only passively receives radio signals from emergency services and does not decode anything. A former minister confirmed in 2016 that it is a legal product and saw no reason for a ban. It is not a radar detector, and those are prohibited.

Is it a radar detector?

No. Think of it as an FM radio that doesn't play music but emits a beep as soon as an emergency service is nearby. A radar detector picks up police speed measurements and is illegal in the Netherlands. This does something completely different.

Does it also detect speed cameras or a laser gun?

No. It does not detect speed cameras, mobile speed traps, or laser guns. If you also want to be warned about lasers, the built-in 2 can be linked to LaserTrack.

From what distance does it warn?

A walkie-talkie transmits a pulse approximately every 4 seconds. If you're driving in the same direction as an emergency service, you'll see a nice build-up of the signal from weak to strong. If one is approaching, your lead is shorter. With the built-in 2 you can get up to about a kilometer, with the GO about 700 meters.

Which emergency services does it detect?

Police, ambulance, and fire brigade vehicles that are active on the C2000 network, including unmarked vehicles without flashing lights and sirens. Vehicles not registered on the network are not detected.

In which countries does it work?

In the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany. Not in France, there the emergency services operate on TetraPol instead of TETRA.

What's the difference between the GO and the 2?

The GO is mobile and you install it yourself, ideal if you switch between cars. The 2 is permanently and invisibly installed, with the best range and a choice of an LED or LCD display.

How much is it?

The GO costs €1249 including VAT. The built-in 2 costs €1749 with an LED display and €1849 with an LCD display, both including installation and VAT.

Can I install it myself?

The GO is plug and play, you can install it yourself in a few minutes. We professionally install the built-in 2 for you in Elburg.

Can the 2 be moved to another car later?

Yes, we do that often. Depending on the car and the desired placement, it usually costs around €500.

How much warranty do I get?

Two years factory warranty on the product, plus our installation warranty for as long as you own the car. The firmware is continuously developed, and updates are free of charge.
