We are a Genevo dealer and install the systems at our own workshop in Elburg. On this page you can read what a Genevo does, how the installation works and, just as important, what is and is not allowed in the Netherlands.

What does a Genevo radar detector do?

A radar detector listens for the signals of speed measurement equipment and gives an alert as soon as it picks them up. Genevo makes radar detectors and laser shields for the European market and supplies firmware updates, so the devices keep recognizing new measurement methods. Is a radar detector legal in the Netherlands?

No, using a radar detector is prohibited in the Netherlands. If the police find one in your car, you risk a fine and the device can be confiscated. We would rather say that honestly upfront than have you find out later: in the Netherlands you do not use the detection functions.

The rules differ per country. Check for yourself what is permitted in every country you drive in, because a device that can legally be sold somewhere is not everywhere also permitted in use.

How does the legalization mode of the Genevo PRO II work?

With the legalization mode you convert the Genevo PRO II for use in countries where radar detectors are prohibited. The detector then no longer gives warnings and the display only shows your current speed; all radar and laser detection functions disappear from the menu. You activate the mode by holding down the buttons for brightness control and sensitivity adjustment for five seconds.

How does the installation work?

A Genevo should not hang on your windshield with suction cups and a loose cable. We install the system so you see little of it in the interior: the components go out of sight, we hide the wiring completely and the controls go where you can reach them without searching.

• We work by appointment, at our own store and workshop at Uiterwaardenstraat 30 in Elburg.
• A courtesy car is available during the work.
• If you do not yet know which version suits your car, we look at that together first before anything is ordered or installed.

What is the difference between Genevo and Blu Eye?

A Genevo responds to speed measurement equipment; the Target Blu Eye responds to the communication of emergency services via the C2000 network and warns of approaching police, fire department and ambulances, not of speed cameras.
