Adro Prepreg Carbon Canards for BMW G87 M2

ARD (ADRO Racing Division) is ADRO's motorsport engineering program, developed for drivers who want to get more out of their car on the track. Every ARD part is developed through CFD simulation and tested on the track. The ARD quad canards are developed to do something specific: manage the vortices initiated by the front splitter and direct the airflow around the front wheels.

The front wheels are one of the biggest sources of aerodynamic drag and turbulence on a passenger car. Each canard generates a vortex at its outer edge. In a quad configuration, these vortices stack and sequence to form a curtain of controlled airflow between the front splitter's endplates and the wheel wells. This reduces turbulent, high-pressure air rushing inwards from the rotating wheel, keeping the underbody flow cleaner and allowing the undervanes to work more efficiently. As part of the complete ARD Aero Package, the system generates 2555N (574 lbs) of downforce at 180 km/h, an increase of 1254% compared to the standard 189N of the M2.

Produced in prepreg carbon fiber. For canards, stiffness is crucial: a canard that deflects under aerodynamic load changes its angle of attack, which degrades the vortex and thus the airflow management. Prepreg maintains the geometry under sustained load, so the canard behaves the same on lap 20 as it did on lap 1.
